Post Denon vs Pioneer? inc "bring bak stu" etc
I’m thinking about getting some new CD players, I have read on the forum about the mk2 and mk3 Pioneer players and the problems about not playing certain copied CDs. And It makes me think about the Denon players I have used over the years I’ve had no problems with them playing any CD! And they have always worked fine. Even in the old days when clubs used to get really hot, Denon players worked fine. I have now a set of DN2600f and I have had no problem with them. So I’ve been thinking about getting a set of DENON DN-S3500.

I’ve never used pioneer equipment very much, the only time I did was when sent to work in a club in Newcastle. turned up, and there was a set of Pioneer players about 10 foot away from the desk, with big awkward jog wheels, and the top flipped up to put the CD in. I didn’t really like them.

But now when I go to the syndicate the new pioneer seems to be the player to have. The likes of Fubar and Eddie Haliwell are using the players to do things I never imagined any Pioneer player could!

What should I buy? Any advice?

Ive used both but i recomment the Pionneers, as long as you get the CDJ1000's over any of the others.

The 1000s are amazing.

The DJM 800 mixer is sexy, but I'd still go for an Allen & Heath mixer.

The 700 mixer isnt that bad either, sort of a combo between a 600 and 800. Rumour is that the mk4's are to be released in late 2008 or early 2009 so that will be interesting to see. Im still debating wether or not to save up and get some DVDJ's. not too sure yet though...

DVDJs are pointless unless you have a massive screen in a club.

DVJ mixing only works when u have a shit hot vj supplying u with great visuals.

if its just wanky music videos you might as well put MTV on.

I agree. Luminar made a Video System loaded with tracks, and when you started a video, it just jumped in with the video on the screens as soon as you hit start, and then you just mixed the Sound of the track on the desk, visuals just looked like MTV.

I can only imagen this is the only way to mix DVDs :-k

Spending the extra cash on the new pioneer DVD players seems a waste.
as the video system, was only used early doors. unless you play old chart tracks or party music :-&

I may try to get some mk2s

That system was just awful.

Much like most of their ideas.
