the file size is 1000 bytes
im not going to increase the avatar dimensions as its 80 x 80 at the mo, and that is really all you need. Itll just reduce other areas. Why cant you guys just chage the size?

i know most people have, if you want a specific large picture (but be sensible) put it as your signature like Nick has

If you put vids or pics that are massive it slows the forum down which is a right pain in the arse.

Actually posting off site avatars doesn't increase server load as client processes the image from the host server..
It would slow forum load time for client by a few milliseconds but that wouldn't be much even to dial up users..
Most avatars in this topic are 80² and 3000+ bytes but limit is 1024 bytes.. Strange..?
Just noticed when trying to add avatar...
